Dr Williams believes that mental health needs to be understood, supported and treated in the context of supporting normal development in adolescents and young adults, and she works with families to ensure their ongoing support and the normal socialization of their young person. Dr Williams strongly believes in taking a multi disciplinary approach and supporting her patients with robust psycho-social interventions, to ensure young people stay healthy, both physically and mentally.

 

Dr Williams has always worked clinically and has been involved from a leadership perspective in service development in both Brighton, UK & Auckland, New Zealand. She worked as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at The University of Auckland and is a member of the teaching team for the Kent,

Dr Zoë Williams BSc MA MBChB MRCPsych

Consultant Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychiatrist

Dr Williams is a Consultant Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychiatrist who also specializes in Eating Disorders, ADHD and Autism and became a Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) member in 2002. Dr Williams and Dr. Giaroli previously worked alongside each other in Melbourne, Australia where she worked for two years at ORYGEN Youth Health.

 

Dr Williams is approachable, down to earth and honest in her approach, and from personal experience greatly understands the stresses placed on young people today.

 

Dr Williams qualified in Medicine & Surgery from Leeds University, UK in 1996 and completed her psychiatry training at the prestigious Maudsley Hospital, St George’s, London. Dr Williams is passionate about improving the mental health of all children, adolescents and young adults and has broad international experience in a range of mental health conditions.

 

Prior to returning to the UK in 2015, Dr Williams lead an Eating Disorders Service in Auckland during her 3 years of being a Consultant Psychiatrist for adolescents in New Zealand. She has a special interest in Eating Disorders and more recently was part of a team setting up an inpatient service in Brighton, UK where she has worked since 2017. In addition to being an Associate at our clinic, she also practices in the NHS as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Sussex, UK.

Dr Williams' General Medical Council (GMC) registration is 4320021 and she is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych).
